ABOUT US
GARY
It all began many years ago..
As teenagers, me and my lifelong friend Gary Whincup (Miramax) used to research the whereabouts of all the local Bull Terriers. We used to knock on people's doors and ask, if we could see their dogs. Most were surprised but happy to show off their pets and tell us all about them. One of these Bull Terrier owners happened to be an old breeder named Joe Frost. Joe took us both under his wing and shared his lifetime Bull Terrier experience with us. He had a lovely bitch from Juliet Shaw named 'Badlesmere Bryony', that won the Charlie Girl cup for movement at the Trophies. Joe mated ‘Sadie’ (who was a daughter to Badlesmere Bryony) to Sequiah County Game.
Gary and I were frequent visitors as the pups grew and we both got our first very own Bull Terrier pups. I showed my boy with limited success, but enjoyed it and met many of the winning breeders of that time (including Raymond Oppenheimer), learning and absorbing all the knowledge they were happy to share. Even if not actively showing, the annual Trophy in the cow sheds at White Waltham was a must every year.
I was hooked.
Some years later, on one of our visits to Kilacabar Kennels, I saw this fabulous white, strong-boned dog puppy, fell in love with him and managed to persuade Chris and Carole into letting me have him. This pup turned out to be Champion Apache Brave of Kilacabar.
I had him in co-ownership with Chris and Carole. Radar went on to become Champion in very stiff competition, winning 3 CCs and 5 RCCs. To this day I have not seen a bigger fit Bull Terrier. After Radar, I went on to get my beautiful Sophie - ‘Kiss the Stars over Kilacabar’. She became my sole companion and foundation bitch producing among others homebred Champion UKUSA Cosmopolitan, the 2008 Regent Trophy winner. By that time, Silverwood in the USA became another annual "must go to show", of which I attended as many as possible.
In 2004 I became one half of the UKUSA affix with the other half joining me from America in my home and sharing my only foundation bitch, Sophie.
There are 20 Champions bred under UKUSA affix, including my own dogs winning the Regent Trophy, Runner up Ormandy Dog Jug and representatives of the Winning UK teams for many years. With the addition of Miniature Bull Terriers I also bred and showed Zita, (CH Lil’Daredevil) to her CH and BOBs, and her litter brother Monty to a dog CC. In 2019 (the last full show year) I was fortunate enough to win 9 CCs and 5 BOBs, 2 doubles (CC dog, CC bitch and BOB) in BTs, 1 double in MBTs at the end of 2018, plus a BOB MBT and BOB BT at the same show and Top Winning BT male of the year. A very busy and successful year showing Zita, Monty, Queenie and Choco.
2020 brought a new chapter to my life and my new affix ‘ABGAR’. As ABGAR, in co-operation with Agata, I have bred some very promising Bull Terriers and Miniatures soon ready to enter the ring in 2021.
As an A list Bull Terrier judge, I have been fortunate enough to judge Bull Terriers all over the world, from as far as Australia, Argentina, Mexico, USA to the vast majority of the countries in Europe, making many worldwide friends and judging some of the greatest Bull Terriers the world has to offer.
AGATA
I was always a dog lover, reading all the available books on breeding, training, genetics, physiology and psychology of these brilliant animals, since I learned how to read. The Bull Terrier fascination started in 2009, when I first met Vario, my local friend's dog.
Cheerful character and electrifying energy of that dog made me fall in love with the breed. I decided straight away, that is the dog for me, but as a teenager my dog choice options were very limited.
My father, an eager hunter, had a strict view on all bull type terriers and the only dog to live in the house had to be a gundog. I trained and bred gundogs all my teenage years until I moved out from my family home, they will always remain close to my heart.
My first Bull Terrier was a rescue boy "PtyÅ›". Hoping to socialize him with other Bull Terriers, I found a local breeder - Dominik Stachowicz (Odi et Amo). Being both passionate about dogs, we soon found common language and became best friends. When I first met Dominik, he already had a Champion bitch (CH PL KARMACOMA Game of Thrones), who produced him
CH PL ABSOLUTELY KARMACOMA Odi et Amo and CH PL BEAST Odi et Amo with whom we travelled throughout numerous shows in Europe with some tremendous successes. I soon became Dominik's right hand, whelping pups together, photographing happy moments and pushing him to continue his breeding work. I got my first Bull Terrier bitch
(CH PL ABSOLUTELY KARMACOMA Odi et Amo) from Dominik
and Sylwia Aeschlimann (Karmacoma) and we made her Polish Champion together.
We still remain friends.
In 2018 I bought my first Miniature Bull Terrier (VICE VERSA VIGOROUS ot Vladlei Arish) and it is her that made me go to England's Bull Terrier Club Trophy Show, where I met Gary. With Gary's experience and my aspirations, we created a hard working team aiming to breed healthy, stable and well-conformed Bull Terriers.
